Assignment 1: Daily 5-Minute Breathing Routine
Objective: Establish diaphragmatic breathing as a daily habit.
Instructions:
Set a timer for 5 minutes each day, preferably at the same time (e.g., right after waking up or before bed). Practice the diaphragmatic breathing technique while seated or lying down. Focus on your breath, hand placement, and the rising and falling of your abdomen. Try to stay fully present and gently return your attention to your breathing if your mind wanders.
How It Helps:
This consistent, short practice reinforces muscle memory and helps you internalize the technique until it becomes natural—even during stressful moments.
