01A01 – Assignment 3: “Body Awareness Walk”

Assignment 3: “Body Awareness Walk”

Objective: Integrate diaphragmatic breathing with physical movement to promote mind-body awareness.
Instructions:
Take a 10–15 minute walk outdoors or in a quiet indoor space. As you walk:

  • Focus on breathing through your nose and letting your belly expand naturally.
  • Match your steps to your breathing: for example, inhale over 4 steps, exhale over 6.
  • Observe how your body feels with each breath and step—your shoulders, arms, back, and stomach.
  • Avoid talking or using your phone during this walk. It’s a quiet, mindful activity.

How It Helps:
Combining movement and breath improves awareness, reduces stress, and helps you notice tension patterns in your body. It also shows how diaphragmatic breathing can be useful even while active.
